Nintendo announced today during their Nintendo Direct broadcast that the Warriors series is coming to Hyrule.

Tentatively title Hyrule Warriors (not the final title mind you), the game will have fast-paced mob style combat made famous in the Dynasty Warriors series of games and be set in the world of The Legend of Zelda. The trailer showcased Link fighting hordes of iconic Zelda monsters and utilizing items such as bombs, the fire rod and his spin attack in a vamped up Warriors-inspired take on it.

Satoru Iwata, President at Nintendo, also wanted to make clear that this game will not be the next game in the core Zelda series.

Hyrule Warriors is scheduled to release in 2014. Click here to see the announcement trailer.
