Microsoft today unveiled its next generation of console.

Called the Xbox One, the system is once again pushing for a console that does more than just play games. Yusuf Mehdi, Senior Vice President of the  Online Audience Business Group at Microsoft displayed that the system can be used instantly to go between watching live TV or functions on the Xbox One.

Mehdi showcased a function with Xbox One called Snap Mode that allows users to utilize a separate app on screen while you are doing things such as watching live TV or watching a movie. Mehdi displayed this feature by using Skype to group chat with a friend or bringing up an NBA App while watching the game on TV.

"The console is scheduled to arrive on store shelves later this year.
