THQ and Obsidian Entertainment are teaming up to create an epic South Park RPG.  The announcement comes from the January Cover Reveal of Game Informer.

Entitled South Park: The Game, players will play as the new kid in South Park, befriend Stan, Cartman, Kyle and Kenny and defend South Park from a wide array of threats according to the reveal.

Also worth noting, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, the two men behind the animated sensation, will be writing the script for the game as well as doing the dialogue for it and overseeing the development.  More info will be made available in the January issue of Game Informer, arriving this month.

The game is slated for a 2012 release for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
