So in a bold and interesting move, Mad Catz has obtained permission from Harmonix to re release Rock Band 3.  Mad Catz has decided that even though lots of folks thought the music genre was practically dead that they'd try for the holiday crowd.

Being the official maker of the peripherals might have been the inspiration here, as Mad Catz is planning on releasing the game with a wireless keyboard, Fender guitar controller and Mustang pro guitar. No word yet on whether or not drums will be released with this bundle, and so far only the 360 version has been confirmed.

It'll be an interesting holiday release and perhaps if they slap a lower price tag on it, it'll spark some interest in those who passed on the game originally because of the high peripheral price tag.
