Ratchet: Deadlocked is next in line to receive a HD PS3 makeover this year, it was announced today at PAX. Following on from the release of the Ratchet and Clank Collection (bringing together the first three titles in the series), the 2005 exclusive will be arriving on PSN at an unspecified point later this year.
Charting the exploits of the eponymous Ratchet as he and robotic companion Clank are forced to compete in 'Dreadzone' - a gladiatorial game show in which competitors are tasked with killing each other - the re-release's price is yet to be revealed.
It's something of an odd choice to avoid launching a physical copy of the game in favour of an online publication, nevertheless; considering Sony's own comments last month that the Collections format "is how we plan on presenting [re-releases] to our consumers" in the future, one possible reason for such an omission could be due to the project 'missing the boat'. The Ratchet and Clank Collection (gathering the original three PS2 titles) is already gracing store shelves, after all.
