Just four months on the shelves in North America and the 3DS is already dropping in price.
Nintendo announced yesterday that the 3DS will be getting a huge price cut. Starting August 12, the 3DS will cost $169.99, a huge step down from the current price of $249.99.
"For anyone who was on the fence about buying a Nintendo 3DS, this is a huge motivation to buy now," said Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime in a press release. "We are giving shoppers every incentive to pick up a Nintendo 3DS, from an amazing new price to a rapid-fire succession of great games."
For people who buy the Nintendo 3DS before the price drop, they will automatically become a part of the Nintendo Ambassadors program and receive 20 free downloadable title. 10 will be NES Virtual Console titles while the other 10 will be Game Boy Advance titles. The NES titles announced so far will be:
Super Mario Bros.
Donkey Kong Jr.
Balloon Fight
Ice Climber
The Legend of Zelda
The GBA titles announced so far will be:
Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3
Mario Kart: Super Circuit
Metroid Fusion
WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$
Mario vs. Donkey Kong
As of right now, Nintendo says these titles will only be made available for Nintendo Ambassadors members and have no plans to release these title to the general public.
