On Tuesday, IO Interactive unveiled in a press release that they are working on a new Hitman game.

Titled Hitman Absolution, players will find Agent 47 betrayed by the Agency and on the run from the police. IO Interactive is also promising a more in-depth look into Agent 47 himself.

""For the first time we are taking Agent 47 on a personal journey which allows us to explore other parts of the Hitman fantasy," said Tore Blystad, game director, IO Interactive.

The game is currently scheduled for a 2012 release and will be showcased at E3 this June.
