Today during the Nintendo Direct broadcast, Nintendo President and CEO Satoru Iwata revealed a few new details regarding New Super Luigi U.

Iwata revealed today that the character Nabbit will be playable in the title. Nabbit was a character in New Super Mario Bros. U that stole items from Toad's house and it was up to Mario to capture him. If players find the gameplay too difficult, they can play as the Nabbit character who doesn't take damage from enemies.

Also revealed, Iwata announced that the downloadable content will come in a stand-alone retail game for those that did not purchase New Super Mario Bros. U.

New Super Luigi U will be released for the Nintendo Wii U on August 25.
