Uk based gaming magazine MCV is reporting that MTV games is shutting it's doors following the sale of Harmonix last month.
The move was widely expected as it had been made clear with the Harmonix sale to private investment firm Columbus Nova that MTV wanted out of the games publishing business.
With lagging sales of Harmonix' latest release, Rock Band 3, and Activision reporting on Friday that they will be shuttering the Guitar Hero franchise, questions are in the air about the future of the once explosively popular music genre.
So our question to you is, what's killed (or is killing) the music genre? Too many releases? Too many plastic instruments? Too little innovation between releases? Expensive DLC? We'd love to hear your take.
