MediaMolecule (creators of the LittleBigPlanet franchise) took to Gamescom last week to reveal their brand new title, a PlayStation Vita exclusive named Tearaway.
A highly interactive adventure that the developer likens to "a buddy movie", the game tasks players with guiding new hero iota through a world made entirely of paper in order to deliver "a very special message, and one that's unique for each and every player".
Utilising the rear touch pad to allow players to 'reach into the game' and interact with foes and the environment, the microphone to clear your path and the system's gyroscope to tilt the world or literally turn it upside down, Tearaway appears to hinge on intelligent use of the Vita's extracurricular technology. With the promise of bringing iota from your Vita and into the real world, it seems probable that the title will also make use of the handheld's capacity for augmented reality. Elsewhere, the announcement post on MediaMolecule's website pointed out that this was still a part of what they called the "creative gaming genre, so rest assured you'll be able to personalise and customise your world to your heart's content".
No release window has been announced as of yet, but we'll have the details for you as soon as they emerge. You can check out the trailer over on the developer's website.
