Hiroshi Yamauchi, the third President of Nintendo, has died. He was 85.
Yamauchi is perhaps best known for turning Nintendo into the company it is today. In 1949, he took over the Nintendo company from his grandfather and decided to change it from a playing card company into powerhouse video game corporation we have now.
Yamauchi stepped down from his position in 2002, and served as chairman of Nintendo's board of directors. In 2005, he retired from the position and the company as well.
