Remember back in June when Epic Games announced they would be opening a studio in Maryland in response of Big Huge Games being shut down? Well, the studio now has a name.
Epic Games announced today the opening of Impossible Studios. The studio will be based in Hunt Valley, Maryland and will be led by Sean Dunn.
"We were so glad we could help keep this great team together, and we're lucky to have them," said Epic Games President Dr. Michael Capps. "At the time, I said that finding a full team of superstars was 'impossible' and apparently the name stuck! Pairing the imagination and experience of Impossible with Epic's technology, IP and resources makes for a business greater than the sum of its parts."
Impossible's first project will be Infinity Blade: Dungeons for iOS devices. The game will have a discussion panel at this year's Dragon*Con on August 31 with Dr. Capps, Ian Frazier; the game's lead designer and the game's author; Brandon Sanderson. The game is schedule to release later this year.
