Great news for anyone whose need for more Marvel fighting games wasn't satiated by the rereleased updated cash-in Ultimate edition of Marvel vs. Capcom 3 earlier this year: Capcom announced today that Marvel vs Capcom Origins will be arriving digitally for both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 this September.

Much like last year's Street Fighter III: Third Strike Online Edition, MvC: Origins will essentially be a repackaging of a pair of '90s fighting games: the MvC precursor Marvel Super Heroes and the original Marvel vs Capcom. According to the press release, both games have been updated with graphics filters, trophies/achievements, online play with spectator modes and replay saving.

No word yet on the exact date the game will arrive on the PSN an XBLA, but it will sell for $14.99/1,200 MSP.
