Get ready to pack your favorite guns because Gearbox Software is sending us on a trip off Pandora.

Today, the studio announced Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel to be the next installment in the Borderlands. As the title "sorta" states, it will serve as an interquel between Borderlands 1 and 2. Players will take on the role of minions under Handsome Jack as you secure his rise to power on Pandora. The game will send players all that way to Pandora's moon.

The four characters players will get to control will be: Athena the Gladiator (from The Secret Armory of General Knoxx), Wilhelm the Enforcer (from of Borderlands 2), Nisha the Lawbringer (The Sheriff of Lynchwood in Borderlands 2), and everyone's favorite robot wisecrack, Claptrap.

"The signature shoot ‘n’ loot gameplay of the Borderlands series expands with the addition of low-gravity and oxygen-powered jetpack combat, the icy ‘Cryo’ elemental damage type, the deadly laser weapon class, and new vehicles to help you explore the diverse lunar landscape." stated the company on their website.

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel is scheduled to release this fall for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
