There were rumors and leaked images going around about where the setting of the next Assassin's Creed would take place.  Well, Ubisoft today confirmed those rumors to be true.

Ubisoft today released the official box art for Assassin's Creed III and it does appear that the next setting will be in the American Revolution during the 18th Century.  You'll notice that the assassin in box art is taking out a Red Coat, so you could speculate that the Assassins will be on the side of the Americans and the Templars will be working for the English.

For now, that is all Ubisoft is showing us, but they did say that more information on the title will be revealed on March 5th.

Assassin's Creed III is scheduled to release on October 30.
