Angry Birds, the app that keeps on sending angry red birds shooting towards those nasty pigs has hit a milestone. Over half a billion copies of the game have been sold, between the original Angry Birds, Angry Birds Seasons and Angry Birds Rio.  The total combined playtime for the game is now at about 200,00 years.

Now, I just bought Angry Birds toys for my cats. That's right. Little balls shaped like the birds and pigs that have a bell in them. My cats play with them at night when they think I'm not paying attention.

So between all the Angry Birds merchandising (I saw mouse pads at Best Buy!) and all the downloads the game is getting, I think it'll only be a matter of time before we're all required to wear helmets signifying our allegiance.
