Speculation of an entry-level 16GB 'PS3 4000' model is true, claims a VG247 source. Utilising Flash storage, it is apparently intended to compete with Microsoft's 4GB Xbox 360.
Although the website went on to state that a Gamescom reveal was out of the picture due to high stock levels of the current PS3, it is still unclear whether the alleged 250GB and 500GB versions are also a reality. Indeed, Sony has yet to even announce the system despite photos from Anatel (the Brazilian Agency of Telecommunications) displaying what many have dubbed a 'super-slim' PlayStation 3.
The system is reportedly smaller than the current PS3 model and will feature a flip-lid for discs.
